Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment - Inspect |

If the harness is broken or damaged in the areas relevant to
the replacement parts shown below, replace the harness, do not repair
it.

Before doing any SRS repairs, check for DTCs with the HDS for
the less obvious deployed components (front seat belt tensioners,
front impact sensors, side impact sensors, etc).

Do not replace the Front passenger's weight sensor unit (USA
and Canada models) or the OPDS unit (Mexico models) unless it is
physically damaged or a specific fault was found during DTC troubleshooting
because it could complicate troubleshooting other DTCs.

USA and Canada models: After a vehicle collision, do the front
passenger's weight sensor unit operation check.

After a vehicle collision, inspect the front seat active head
restraints.
4-door USA and Canada models: After a collision where the driver's seat
belt outer lap tensioner deployed, replace these items:

Front seat belt(s)

as needed.

During the repair process, inspect these areas:

Inspect all the SRS wire harnesses. Replace, do not repair, any
damaged harnesses.

Inspect the cable reel for heat damage. If there is any damage,
replace the cable reel.
After the vehicle is completely repaired, turn the ignition switch to
ON (II). If the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes
off, the SRS is OK. If the indicator does not function properly, use the
HDS to check for the DTCs. If you cannot retrieve a code, do the SRS Symptom
Troubleshooting.

Headliner/Pillar Trim Overlap - Check |
tms
Checking and Adjusting the Headliner/Pillar Trim Overlap
To prevent the side curtain airbag from deploying and damaging
the pillar trim (A-pillar trim, B-pillar trim, C-pillar trim, quarter
pillar trim), the overlap between the headliner and pillar trim
must be less than 8 mm (0.31 in). To check the overlap, do this:
1.
Install the headliner (A) and the pillar trim (B).

2.
Apply masking tape (A) to the headliner (B) to mark the upper
edge of the pillar trim (C).

3.
Remove the pillar trim, and measure the headliner overlap.

If the overlap is less than 8 mm (0.31 in), remove
the tape, and install the pillar trim.

If the overlap is more than 8 mm (0.31 in), go
to step 4.

4.
Carefully trim the headliner with a utility knife, reducing the
overlap to less than 8 mm (0.31 in).
5.
Remove the tape, and install the pillar trim.
