1. Radiator Cap

1.

Wait until the engine is cool, then carefully remove the radiator cap.


2. Vehicle Lift

1.

Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.


3. Radiator Coolant - Replacement

1.

Loosen the drain plug (A), and drain the coolant.


4. Intake Air Pipe

1.

Remove the intake air pipe.


5. EGR Pipe

1.

Remove the EGR pipe (A).


6. Thermostat Housing Peripheral Assembly

Except CVT

1.

Disconnect the connectors (A).


2.

Remove the harness clamps (B).



3.

Disconnect the connector (A).


4.

Remove the harness clamp (B).


Except M/T


M/T


5.

Remove the harness bracket (A).


6.

Disconnect the lower radiator hose (B), the water bypass hose (C), and the heater hose (D).


7. EGR Valve


1.

Disconnect the connector.


2.

Remove the EGR valve (A).


8. Thermostat

1.

Remove the thermostat cover (A).



2.

Remove the thermostat (B).


9. Thermostat Housing

1.

Remove the thermostat housing.

Install the thermostat housing (A), using a new gasket (B) and new O-ring (C).


2. Thermostat

1.

Install the thermostat (A) with a new rubber seal (B).



2.

Install the thermostat cover (C).


3. EGR Valve


1.

Install the EGR valve (A) with a new gasket (B).


2.

Connect the connector.


4. Thermostat Housing Peripheral Assembly

1.

Connect the lower radiator hose (A), the water bypass hose (B), and the heater hose (C).


2.

Install the harness bracket (D).



3.

Install the harness clamp (A).


4.

Connect the connector (B).


Except CVT

5.

Install the harness clamps (A).


6.

Connect the connectors (B).


5. EGR Pipe

1.

Install the EGR pipe (A) with new gaskets (B).


6. Intake Air Pipe

1.

Install the intake air pipe.


7. Radiator Coolant - Replacement

1.

Follow the chart and pour coolant into the radiator up to the base of the filler neck.


NOTE:

Use Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2, and if necessary add Honda Extreme Cold Weather Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 (concentrate). Using a non-Honda coolant can result in corrosion, causing the cooling system to malfunction or fail.

Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 is a mixture of 50 % antifreeze and 50 % water. Honda Extreme Cold Weather Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 is a 100 % concentration coolant. Do not add water to either coolant.

If the vehicle is regularly driven in very low temperatures (below -22 °F ( -30 °C)), a 60 % concentration of coolant should be used.
