Cleaning
If windshield visibility remains poor after using the washer system, or if the wiper blades chatter, streak, or make unusual noise during operation, wax, road film, dirt, or other contaminants may be present on either the windshield surface or the wiper blades.
Clean the exterior windshield surface using windshield washer fluid or a mild automotive detergent. A properly cleaned windshield should allow water to sheet off evenly without excessive beading.
Clean each wiper blade carefully using a soft cloth soaked in washer fluid or a mild detergent solution. This helps remove residue that can reduce wiping effectiveness.
After cleaning, rinse the blades thoroughly with clean water and allow them to dry.
If visibility is still compromised after cleaning both the windshield and blades, install new windshield wiper blades to restore proper wiping performance.
CAUTION
Worn, damaged, or hardened windshield wiper blades can scratch the glass surface and significantly reduce driver visibility, especially during adverse weather conditions.
Replacing
Replace the windshield wiper blades whenever they show signs of wear, cracking, deformation, or reduced wiping performance.
To replace the windshield wiper blades on the Nissan Kicks, follow the procedure below:
1. Carefully lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.
2. Press the release tab B.
3. Slide the wiper blade A downward and remove it from the arm.
4. Install the new blade onto the wiper arm until it locks securely into position with an audible click.
5. Carefully return the wiper assembly to the windshield.
CAUTION
- After replacing the wiper blade, always return the wiper arm to its normal position. Leaving the arm raised may result in damage when the hood is opened.
- Ensure the blade sits properly against the glass surface. Improper contact may allow wind pressure to damage the wiper arm during vehicle operation.
If the hood is waxed or polished, take care not to allow wax residue to enter washer nozzle D. Blocked nozzles may cause reduced washer performance or improper spray patterns. If wax enters the nozzle, carefully remove it using a fine needle or small pin C.
Rear Window Wiper Blade
If inspection, adjustment, or replacement of the rear wiper blade is required, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for service. Proper rear wiper operation helps maintain clear rearward visibility and supports safe driving in all weather conditions.
