WARNING

  • If the engine is not running, or if it shuts off while driving, power steering assistance will not be available.

As a result, steering effort will increase significantly and the steering wheel will be more difficult to turn.

  • If the power steering warning light illuminates while the engine is running, power steering assistance may be unavailable. Although you will still be able to steer the Nissan Kicks, considerably more effort will be required. Have the power steering system inspected as soon as possible. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

The power steering system is designed to reduce steering effort and provide smoother vehicle control during normal driving conditions. This allows the steering wheel of the Nissan Kicks to be operated with relatively light force while maintaining responsive handling.

If the steering wheel is turned repeatedly or held against its stop for extended periods while parking or maneuvering at very low speeds, the amount of steering assistance may be temporarily reduced.

This reduction in power assist is a protective feature designed to prevent the power steering system from overheating and to help protect its internal components from damage. During this period, steering effort will increase and the steering wheel may feel noticeably heavier than usual. Once system temperatures return to a normal range, full power steering assistance will be restored automatically.

Avoid repeatedly performing steering maneuvers that place excessive strain on the power steering system, particularly during extended parking maneuvers or low-speed operation.

A slight sound may occasionally be heard when the steering wheel is turned quickly. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system and does not indicate a malfunction.

If the power steering warning light illuminates while the engine is running, it may indicate that the power steering system is not operating correctly and may require inspection or service.

Have the power steering system checked promptly. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for professional diagnosis and repair.

When the power steering warning light remains illuminated with the engine running, steering assistance will not be available. However, you will still retain steering control of the Nissan Kicks. Under these circumstances, substantially greater effort will be required to turn the steering wheel, especially during low-speed maneuvers, parking situations, and sharp turns.
