Nissan Kicks: Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition systems - Heater and air conditioner (automatic) (Type B)

The Nissan Kicks automatic climate control system can be managed either through the physical control panel or by using the " " Climate Controls key on the display screen. Whenever settings are adjusted using the control panel, a notification window appears on the display, allowing the driver to confirm climate changes quickly and conveniently.

WARNING

• The air-conditioning cooling function of the Nissan Kicks operates only while the engine is running.
• Never leave children, passengers requiring assistance, or pets unattended inside your Nissan Kicks.

  Pets should also never be left alone inside the vehicle.

  Unintended operation of vehicle controls may result in injury. In addition, temperatures inside a closed vehicle can rise rapidly during sunny weather and may cause severe injury or even death to people and animals.

• Avoid using recirculation mode continuously for extended periods, as the cabin air may become stale and window fogging may occur.

NOTE:

• Odors from outside traffic, environmental conditions, or the interior of the Nissan Kicks can accumulate within the climate control system and may be noticeable through the air vents.
• Before parking, it is recommended to switch off air recirculation mode to allow fresh air into the cabin. This simple step can help reduce unwanted odors and improve cabin freshness.

Automatic operation

Cooling and/or dehumidified heating (AUTO)

The Nissan Kicks automatic climate control system is designed for year-round comfort. Once activated, the system automatically maintains the selected temperature while adjusting fan speed and airflow distribution to suit changing cabin and outside conditions.

1. Press AUTO (the indicator will illuminate).
2. Use the , Temperature control to select the desired cabin temperature.

• The passenger compartment temperature will be regulated automatically.

  Air distribution and fan operation are continuously adjusted by the Nissan Kicks climate control system for maximum comfort.

• A light mist may occasionally be visible from the vents during hot and humid conditions. This occurs when air is cooled rapidly and is completely normal.

Dehumidified defrosting or defogging

1. Press the Front defroster button on the heater and air conditioner control panel.

2. Use the , Temperature control to select the desired temperature.

• For faster removal of frost or ice from exterior glass surfaces, set the fan speed to the maximum level.
• Once the windshield is clear, press AUTO to return the Nissan Kicks climate system to fully automatic operation.
• When the front defrost mode is activated, the air conditioner automatically turns on to improve moisture removal efficiency.
• The defroster function cannot be selected directly from the climate control screen. To clear the windshield, press the Front defroster button.

Remote Engine Start with Intelligent Climate Control (if so equipped)

On Nissan Kicks models equipped with Remote Engine Start and Intelligent Climate Control, the system may automatically activate heating or cooling based on cabin and ambient temperatures. During remote operation, climate controls displayed on the screen remain inactive until the ignition switch is placed in the ON position. Depending on conditions, the rear window defroster, heated seats, and heated steering wheel may also activate automatically to improve driver comfort before entering the vehicle.

Setting the air flow intensity

NOTE:

This setting is available only when AUTO mode is active.

While viewing the Climate control screen, touch the " " settings key.

Use the "+" and "-" controls to customize the maximum airflow intensity according to your preference.

Choosing levels "1", "2", or "3" limits the maximum fan speed to levels "6", "5", or "4" respectively, providing quieter climate system operation inside the Nissan Kicks.

Manual operation

Fan speed control

Use the , or , Fan speed control to manually adjust airflow intensity.

Press AUTO at any time to return to automatic fan management.

Temperature control

Use the , Temperature control to set the desired cabin temperature.

Air recirculation

Press the air recirculation (the indicator will illuminate) to recirculate interior air inside the vehicle.

This feature is especially useful when driving through dusty areas, heavy traffic, or locations with strong outside odors.

Air flow control

Air flow control can be configured directly from the Climate control screen.

To manually direct airflow, use the airflow outlet controls, the Front defroster, or the Manual air flow control. A pop-up menu will appear, allowing you to select the desired airflow pattern.

- Air flows from center and side vents.

- Air flows from center and side vents and foot outlets.

- Air flows mainly from foot outlets.

- Air flows from defroster and foot outlets.

To turn system off

To switch the climate control system off, press the ON-OFF button. Pressing the button again restores the previous operating mode that was active before shutdown.

Operating tips

The sunload sensor shown above is mounted on the instrument panel. This sensor helps the Nissan Kicks climate control system maintain a consistent cabin temperature by monitoring sunlight intensity. Avoid placing objects near the sensor, as doing so may reduce system accuracy.

• When engine coolant and outside temperatures are low, airflow from the foot outlets may be delayed for up to 150 seconds.

  This is normal operation. Once the engine warms up, airflow will return to normal.

• If the airflow mode selected does not appear to match the vents being used, select the mode.
• You may briefly feel air from the foot outlets when changing airflow modes. This is a normal characteristic of the Nissan Kicks climate control system.

Servicing air conditioner

The air conditioning system installed in the Nissan Kicks uses an environmentally conscious refrigerant developed to reduce impact on the atmosphere.

This refrigerant does not damage the Earth's ozone layer.

Servicing the Nissan Kicks air conditioning system requires specialized equipment and approved lubricants. The use of incorrect refrigerants or oils can cause serious damage and significantly reduce system performance. To maintain proper operation and reliability, it is recommended that all air conditioner servicing be performed by an authorized Nissan dealer or a qualified technician.

WARNING

The air conditioner system contains refrigerant under high pressure. To prevent injury and avoid damage to the Nissan Kicks climate control system, servicing should only be carried out by trained technicians using appropriate equipment.
