WARNING

  • The air conditioner cooling function in the Nissan Kicks operates only while the engine is running.
  • Never leave children, adults who may need assistance, or pets unattended inside your Nissan Kicks.

They may accidentally operate vehicle controls, injure themselves, or create a hazardous situation.

On warm or sunny days, the temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise very quickly and may cause serious or even fatal injury to people or animals.

  • Do not use air recirculation mode for long periods. Extended recirculation can make the cabin air stale and may cause the windows to fog.

NOTE:

  • Odors from inside or outside the Nissan Kicks can collect in the air conditioner unit and may enter the passenger compartment through the vents.
  • When parking, set the heater and air conditioner controls so that recirculation is turned off. Allowing fresh air into the cabin can help reduce trapped odors and keep the interior more comfortable.

Automatic operation

Cooling and/or dehumidified heating (AUTO)

This mode is suitable for year-round use in the Nissan Kicks because the automatic climate control system manages the cabin temperature for you. The system adjusts air flow distribution and fan speed automatically to help maintain the selected comfort level.

1. Press the AUTO button.

2. Turn the temperature control dial left or right to choose the desired temperature.

  • The passenger compartment temperature will be maintained automatically.

Air flow direction and fan speed are also adjusted by the system without the need for constant manual changes.

  • In hot and humid weather, you may briefly notice a light mist coming from the vents as the air cools rapidly. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.

Cooling and/or dehumidified heating (AUTO)

For everyday driving, this automatic mode helps the Nissan Kicks maintain a steady interior climate with minimal driver input. It balances cooling, dehumidifying, air distribution, and fan speed according to the selected temperature and cabin conditions.

1. Press the AUTO button.

2. Rotate the temperature control dial to the left for a cooler setting or to the right for a warmer setting.

  • The cabin temperature in the Nissan Kicks will be regulated automatically.

The system also controls fan speed and outlet selection to help keep the passenger area comfortable.

  • A small amount of visible mist from the vents may appear when warm, humid air is cooled quickly. This is a normal operating condition.

Dehumidified defrosting or defogging

1. Press the Nissan Kicks front defroster button iconfront defroster button.

2. Turn the temperature control dial to the maximum temperature setting to improve defogging performance.

  • To remove outside ice or heavy fog from the windows more quickly, use the Nissan Kicks fan speed control icon fan speed control dial and set the fan speed to maximum.
  • After the windshield becomes clear, press the AUTO button to return the Nissan Kicks climate system to automatic operation.
  • When the Nissan Kicks front defroster icon front defroster button is pressed, the air conditioner turns on automatically to help remove moisture from the air.

Remote Engine Start with Intelligent Climate Control (if so equipped)

If the Nissan Kicks is equipped with automatic climate control and Remote Engine Start, the system may automatically begin heating or cooling the cabin when Remote Engine Start is activated. Operation depends on the outside temperature and the temperature inside the vehicle. During this period, the climate control display and buttons may not respond until the ignition switch is placed in the ON position. In Remote Engine Start defrosting mode, the rear window defroster, heated seats, and heated steering wheel, if equipped, may also activate automatically to improve comfort and visibility before driving.

Manual operation

Fan speed control

Turn the Nissan Kicks fan speed control dial icon fan speed control dial to manually increase or decrease the fan speed.

Press the AUTO button when you want the Nissan Kicks system to resume automatic fan speed control.

Temperature control dial

The temperature control dial adjusts the temperature of the air coming from the vents. Turn the dial to the left for cooler air or to the right for warmer air. This allows quick manual adjustment when cabin conditions change.

Air recirculation

Press the Nissan Kicks air recirculation button icon air recirculation button to circulate air already inside the vehicle.

Use this mode when you want faster cooling or when driving through areas with dust, smoke, or unpleasant outside odors. For normal driving, fresh-air operation is recommended to help reduce window fogging.

Start the engine, turn the Nissan Kicks fan speed control icon fan speed control dial to the desired position, and press the Nissan Kicks air conditioner button icon button to turn on the air conditioner. To switch the air conditioner off, press the Nissan Kicks air conditioner off button icon button again.

Operating tips

Nissan Kicks sunload sensor location for automatic climate control

The sunload sensor is located on the instrument panel, as shown. It helps the Nissan Kicks automatic climate control system measure sunlight intensity and maintain a more consistent cabin temperature. Do not place objects on or around this sensor, because covering it may reduce climate control accuracy.

  • When the engine coolant temperature and outside air temperature are low, air flow from the foot outlets may not begin for up to 150 seconds.

This is normal operation. Once the coolant warms up, air flow from the foot outlets will operate as expected.

  • If the selected air flow mode and the outlets being used do not seem to match, select the Nissan Kicks air flow mode selection icon mode.
  • When changing the air flow mode, you may briefly feel air from the foot outlets. This is normal and does not indicate a problem with the Nissan Kicks climate control system.
