CAUTION
- NISSAN recommends using only Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 or an equivalent fluid specifically approved for use in Nissan CVT transmissions. Mixing different fluid types can negatively affect transmission performance and durability.
- Never use Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) or manual transmission fluid in a Nissan CVT. These fluids are not formulated for CVT operation and may result in severe transmission damage. Any damage caused by the use of non-approved fluids is not covered under the NISSAN New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
- Even fluids that appear similar but are not equivalent to Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 may adversely affect transmission operation. Using incorrect fluid can lead to premature wear, reduced efficiency, or costly repairs that are not covered by warranty.
Whenever CVT fluid inspection, maintenance, or replacement becomes necessary, it is recommended that the service be performed by a qualified technician. For the Nissan Kicks, visiting a NISSAN dealer helps ensure that the correct fluid and service procedures are used.
Brake Fluid
For detailed brake fluid specifications, refer to the "Recommended Fluids/Lubricants and Capacities" section. Using the proper fluid is essential for maintaining reliable braking performance in your Nissan Kicks.
WARNING
- Always use fresh brake fluid from a sealed container. Old, contaminated, or poor-quality fluid can reduce
brake system effectiveness and may damage brake components.
The use of incorrect brake fluid may compromise braking performance and reduce the vehicle's stopping capability.
- Clean the reservoir filler cap and surrounding area before opening it to help prevent contamination from entering the brake system.
- Brake fluid is toxic and should always be stored in clearly labeled containers out of the reach of children.
CAUTION
Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with painted surfaces.
Brake fluid can damage vehicle paint. If any fluid is accidentally spilled, immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly with clean water.
Inspect the fluid level in the reservoir regularly. If the level falls below the MIN mark A, the brake warning light may illuminate. Add brake fluid until the level reaches the MAX mark B.
If brake fluid must be added frequently, the brake system should be inspected for leaks or other issues. It is recommended that you have the Nissan Kicks brake system checked by a NISSAN dealer.
