When installing a CB radio, ham radio, or car phone in your Nissan Kicks, follow the precautions below carefully. Improperly installed communication equipment can interfere with the engine control system, electronic control modules, audio components, and other sensitive vehicle electronics.

WARNING

  • A cellular phone should not be used for any purpose while driving, because full attention must remain on operating the vehicle safely.

Some jurisdictions prohibit the use of cellular phones while driving.

  • If a call must be made while the Nissan Kicks is moving, use the hands-free cellular phone operating mode (if so equipped) whenever possible.

Always use extreme caution so that full attention remains on vehicle operation.

  • If talking on the phone prevents you from concentrating fully on driving, pull off the road to a safe location and stop the vehicle before continuing the call.

CAUTION

  • Keep the antenna as far away as possible from electronic control modules.
  • Keep the antenna wire more than 8 in (20 cm) away from the electronic control system harnesses. Do not route the antenna wire alongside any wiring harness.
  • Adjust the antenna standing-wave ratio according to the equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Connect the ground wire from the CB radio chassis securely to the vehicle body.
  • For proper installation guidance and to help avoid interference with Nissan Kicks electronics, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer.
