WARNING
- Battery ingestion presents a serious hazard. Swallowing a battery can result in severe injury or death.
- A button-cell or coin-style battery that is swallowed can cause dangerous internal chemical burns in as little as two hours.
- Always keep both new and used batteries out of the reach of children.
- Take extra care to ensure that removed batteries and small components cannot be accessed by children or pets.
- Seek immediate medical assistance if a battery is suspected of being swallowed or inserted into any part of the body.
- For emergency treatment information, contact the National Battery Ingestion Hotline at 1-800-498-8666.
- There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Use only the same battery type or an approved equivalent. Installing an incorrect battery may result in serious injury, death, or equipment damage.
- Do not crush, puncture, cut, or deform the battery.
- Avoid exposing the battery to extremely low air pressure conditions at high altitudes.
- Do not expose the battery to excessive heat, direct sunlight, fire, or similar heat sources.
CAUTION
- Improper battery disposal can harm the environment. Always follow local regulations regarding battery recycling and disposal.
- When replacing the battery, keep all components clean and prevent dust, moisture, or oil from contaminating the internal parts.
NISSAN Intelligent Key
Replace the battery in the Nissan Kicks Intelligent Key using the following procedure:
1. Remove the mechanical key from the Intelligent Key housing.
2. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver A into slit B located at the corner of the Intelligent Key. Carefully twist the screwdriver to separate the upper and lower halves of the case. To protect the Intelligent Key housing from scratches, place a soft cloth between the screwdriver and the casing.
CAUTION
To avoid damaging the Nissan Kicks Intelligent Key housing, do not apply excessive force when inserting or twisting the screwdriver.
3. Remove the old battery and install a new one.
Recommended battery: CR2032 or equivalent.
- Do not touch the internal circuit board or electrical terminals, as contamination or static discharge could affect operation.
- Handle the battery only by its outer edges. Touching both contact surfaces simultaneously may reduce battery storage capacity.
- Ensure the positive (+) side of the battery faces the bottom section of the Intelligent Key housing as illustrated.
4. Reassemble the Intelligent Key by securely snapping the cover sections together at points C and D.
5. Test all Intelligent Key buttons to confirm proper operation after battery replacement.
If assistance is required, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for service. Proper Intelligent Key operation is important for the convenience and security features of your Nissan Kicks.
