When the doors of the Nissan Kicks are locked by one of the available locking methods, they cannot be opened with the inside or outside door handles until they are unlocked. Always confirm that the doors are properly locked or unlocked before driving, parking, or leaving the vehicle unattended.
WARNING
- Always keep the doors locked while driving the Nissan Kicks. Together with properly fastened seat belts, locked doors help improve occupant safety in the event of an accident by reducing the chance of a person being thrown from the vehicle. Locked doors also help prevent children or other passengers from unintentionally opening a door and may help discourage unauthorized entry.
- Before opening any door, always check the surrounding area carefully and avoid oncoming traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, and other hazards.
- To help reduce the risk of injury or death caused by unintended vehicle operation, window entrapment, or accidental door lock activation, never leave children, people who require assistance, or pets unattended inside the Nissan Kicks. On a warm day, the temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise quickly enough to create a serious or fatal risk for people and animals.

Child safety rear door lock
The child safety rear door locks help prevent the rear doors from being opened accidentally from inside the Nissan Kicks, especially when small children are riding in the rear seats.
The child safety lock levers are located on the edge of the rear doors.
When the lever is in the unlock position 2, the rear door can be opened from either the outside or the inside.
When the lever is in the LOCK position 1, the rear door can be opened only from the outside.
Practical door safety tip: Before every trip in the Nissan Kicks, especially with children in the rear seats, confirm that the rear doors are fully closed and that the child safety locks are set as needed.
